New Nashville-made canned cocktail that supports musicians hits shelves across South Carolina

Country Luau, which donates 2% of all proceeds to help emerging musicians, is now available statewide

Nashville, TNCountry Luau, a new Nashville-made canned cocktail that gives back to up-and-coming musicians, is now available in bars, restaurants and independent liquor stores throughout South Carolina. Their presence will be largest in Charleston and Greenville and will be available in liquor stores along the coast including Total Wine this month.

Country Luau is a fresh addition to the hard seltzer aisle, offering canned cocktails made with premium spirits that donate 2% of annual sales directly to musicians and nonprofit organizations that support them. The program, Mixed for Music™, invites anyone working towards a professional career in music to apply for grants any time. These grants are intended to aid with expenses barring hopefuls from entering the music scene, such as studio time, equipment costs and production. Current award recipients include artists AZXO, Banditos and Dana Kalan.

“I’ve worked for a number of big corporations in the alcohol industry over the years, and we sponsored a lot of popular music artists,” says Founder and CEO Adam Kost. “When I founded Country Luau, I really wanted to take a reverse approach to that corporate model. Rather than leverage popular artists to help grow a brand, I wanted to leverage a brand to help smaller artists build their audiences.”

Kost is a 20-year beverage industry veteran with experience leading national and international brands including Heineken, Dos Equis, Jameson Irish Whiskey, Kahlua, Malibu Rum, The Glenlivet, Dulce Vida Tequila and Waterloo Sparkling Water.

Each flavor of Country Luau is certified gluten-free and contains only two grams of sugar and 100 calories. The line includes four different tropical twists on classic profiles, like Strawberry Daq Shack, Yuzu Ranch Water, Mango Mosa and Pineapple Jalapen-Y’all. Country Luau’s unique flavor combinations are bold but balanced, focused on incorporating nostalgic and modern flavors.
