Saltwater Kitchen reopens with a bang in flavor, 'laid-back' atmosphere

Saltwater Kitchen, a Lowcountry-inspired restaurant from the Rick Erwin Dining Group, reopened March 2, after a hiatus of more than a year and a half.

And while it's not what a typical Rick Erwin eatery is known for in decor and service, it more than makes up for it in the casual colors, "laid-back" atmosphere and banging flavors incorporated in the food.

Let's talk about the She Crab Soup, for starters.

She Crab Soup

With lump crab - and plenty of it - and creamed sherry, this delectable dish is a sure-fire way to get the culinary service started. It was a taste-bud pleaser, for sure!

The BBQ Chicken Nachos are also a great way to start off lunch or dinner, or just eat this as a meal itself. It's that plentiful.

Now, some great choices for entrees.

The Cedar Plank Salmon is a must for those who love fish and enjoy it being cooked to perfection. The salmon is accompanied with bacon, tomato and green bean ragout and slathered with a lobster creole sauce.

Welcome to Delicious City, friends!

If you want to taste a variety of seafood, then the Fried Seafood Platter is right up your ally. It's the perfect choice to enjoy what many locals on the coast get an opportunity to have daily.

Fried Seafood Platter

This heaping plate of greatness comes with shrimp, oysters and flounder. All were cooked well. Loved the flakiness of the flounder. It was like I was back in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina.

OK, now it's time for the burger. Yes, a burger. This Double Smash Burger was as advertised. Loaded with American cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, they had to add more. It is finished off with a special sauce, which really takes the flavor to another level. I got fries with mine.

If you looking for a great place to unwind and enjoy some tasty food similar to what the coast of South Carolina has to offer, Saltwater Kitchen is your culinary destination. #gotoyournomnomplace and be a #culinaryencourager today. Tell them we sent ya!
