Simpsonville Farmer's Market moves to new location for 2022 season

The Simpsonville Farmer's Market is in full swing with more than 40 vendors and a new location. On May 7, the seasons kickoff, market reps say they saw the most foot traffic ever in its 12-year history.

For 2022 and 2023, the market will be at 118 NE Main Street due to city improvements being made to their former location at the park. Given that, it has not stopped participation at all.

We were able to attend May 14. If you know anything about us, you know we love supporting farm-to-table events - especially farmer's markets. The Growers Market in Georgetown, South Carolina, was a ritual attend for us, and we actually had chefs come onsite to conduct mystery-basket demos with produce found onsite.

The Simpsonville Farmer's Market is held every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. It lasts from May until September.

Let's learn more about the market, shall we?

The Simpsonville Farmers Market is an open-air market held on in-season Saturdays in the heart of downtown Simpsonville. Our vendors are local farmers and artisans, and unlike others in the area we plan and run our own market each year. We feature an array of products from the expected seasonal fruits and vegetables, to eggs and artisan cheeses, locally roasted coffee, eggs and meat, health and beauty care, and much more. What was a small affair in 2010 has now grown into a celebrated market known locally for its high quality and variety.
There is a lot to choose from, so make sure you bring your reusable shopping bags!

OK, now let's take a look at a few people we met Saturday!

The first is Stump Creek Farms. They are located at 182 Killingsworth Circle, Ware Shoals, South Carolina. They are known for their awesome vegetables and veggie plants.

Next, we met up with JBo Ranch, located at 190 Forksville Road, Honea Path, South Carolina. The awesome folks are also known for their fresh produce.

We also met My GF Chef at Crack A Daddle Do Farm, who are known for all their offerings to be gluten free.

Our final tent stop for produce was at Hastings Corner Farm & Garden. They had some amazing produce to offer. Take a look.

Now, you know that you'd expect some sweet treats at a farmer's market, right? Well, we found the good stuff, that's for sure!

Check out Robin's Just Desserts, known for their succulent macarons. They are located at 208 Romsey Circle, Simpsonville, South Carolina. Not only do they serve macarons, they have delicious, award-winning cakes and pies.

Also serving the sweets was Penny's Pantry! You can expect superb cookies and cupcakes, but you must grab a cannoli - or two, three, fours - because those things are heavenly sent.

Finally, we share Sweet Dreams by Lori. We first saw them in action recently at Fountain Inn's first-ever Italian Heritage Festival earlier this year. Just check out the photos and plan a trip on Saturday to the market, trust me on this. The chocolate cake slice I had was divine!

Oh, yes... the market has strawberries, too!

We hope to see you one Saturday! Come out and support local farmers, vendors! Be a #culinaryencourager!
