The Culinary Encourager partners with second annual MarshWalk Restaurant Week February 21-25

In 2021, eight restaurants along the glorious Marshwalk of Murrells Inlet got together to brainstorm a restaurant week. As they got a clearer picture of what it was going to look like, they reached out to me (known then as Georgetown Foodland) to partner with the event and kick it off with behind-the-scenes videos with the chefs whipping up the dishes they'd offer in their kitchens.

Then came my move to Greenville, South Carolina. I loved being part of the first-ever event, but I thought it'd be the last for me.

Gosh, was I wrong.

In December 2021, I was called by Christina Burzler of Brickyard Marketing. She was who had me out for the first one. This time, it was a unanimous voice coming from the Inlet! They wanted me back! The restaurant owners and chefs all said he's the guy to cheerlead us!

Holding up the second annual Marshwalk Restaurant Week poster, fresh off the presses!

So, February 4-7 saw the return of yours truly into Georgetown County to support a whole strip of restaurants on the inlet. I couldn't have been more humbled to be asked to be back for this truly epic event that kicks off February 21-25. Getting back in the kitchens with my chef friends was dream come true.

We shot the videos in two days. It was back-to-back work, but we stayed on schedule and worked flawlessly with video production. I didn't want to waste their valuable time nor take them away from their lines while managing lunch services.

But, they all were so excited to see me, it was like time slowed down - for all of us. We enjoyed each other's company. The smiles were endless, like the brunch mimosas.

For me, my heart grew a few inches. I was in my element. And the chefs were in theirs!

Seeing chefs Casey( Drunken Jack's), Chris (Mojo's Marina Bar & Grille), Dan (Creek Ratz, not pictured), Dave (Wahoo's Fish House), Jjinu (sushi chef, Wicked Tuna), Nick (Wicked Tuna), Rex (Dead Dog Saloon, The Claw House) and Tricia (pastry chef, Mojo's Marina Bar & Grille and Wicked Tuna) in a two-day span was really exciting.

It was refreshing. I had missed them all.
