The Slice is open, baby!

Simpsonville pizzeria reopens to rave reviews

We had the opportunity last weekend to dine in at The Slice during their first week back in business. They had closed for remodeling for a few months and were putting new equipment in. They also had a chance to revamp the menu, keeping the favorites and adding new items.

Mike, Gregg and Cuzzo (Mark) are doing what they do best and that's slinging out top-quality pizzas with that New York swag!

One of the key additions is the relocation of The Pasta Addict. Known for their pasta at Gather GVL, they'll be exclusive to the pizzeria here in Simpsonville, South Carolina. Follow their Facebook page for more information on their move.

So, let's take a trip inside.

Ok, let's get to the food, starting with these awesome Pizza Logs.

Pizza Logs - Pepperoni and Mozzarella, Pepperoni & Sausage with Mozzarella, Mushroom & Sausage with Mozzarella

These delectable little treats are a great way to start a meal here. I had them just before they shut down as a special Cuzzo treat. I told him these must be on the menu when they reopen. Sure enough, they are. I brought my Mike's Hot Honey just for the occasion.

Really crispy, but not too crispy. The cheese makes the log! Loved every bite.

The Garlic Knots are back! A local favorite is still being served up on the daily.

These are some of the best - if not the best - served in the Upstate. You'll have to try for yourself, but we love them!

The pizzas here, are oh.my.God good! Their making their dough in-house and it's as fresh as it gets, folks.

The pepperoni with extra cheese was just stupid gooey. Stupid tasty, too!

We also loved the Buffalo Chicken Pizza. With this one, they don't skimp out on the chicken. The flavors pound your mouth like your in the ring with Rocky Balboa. Loved every bite.

I do suggest you grab you some Mike's Hot Honey (Publix, Food Lion) and bring it with you to put on the food here, especially the pizzas. It will add such a great sweet taste with a kick to the already savory flavors of the food.

Stop in and check out the joint. The food here is superb.

Hanging out with Gregg Peter Fiametta at The Slice!
